Around the second half of the 18th century, the "Posta," stage-coaches used for transporting passengers and postal documents, had its headquarters at the famous building of the Marquis Patrizi, on Course Vannucci. Within a short time the building became the "Locanda della Posta", the only hotel in the City of Perugia. Thanks to its noble "prerogatives" the Hotel was immediately considered the ultimate example of hospitality in Perugia. Famous personalities of that period stayed at the Hotel, while visiting Perugia. In fact, in 1786 the poets Heinse and Goethe sojourned here, as did the philosopher Humboldt in 1802, Fred III of Prussia in 1824, and the writer Andersen in 1833. Since then, several changes have taken place, and despite having been totally restructured, the "Locanda della Posta" has maintained its charm, antiquity and exclusiveness.
Corso Vannucci 97, Perugia 06121 , Perugia (Italia). IDEAL CENTRAL POSITION Be it on a business trip or pleasure trip to Perugia, staying at the "Locanda della Posta" certainly becomes an experience. To relax here means to enjoy a supremacy of exclusiveness: the Hotel is situated in the old centre within walking reach of monuments and masterpieces of Italian art.
